FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

How will I receive my files?

you will receive all of the files via wetransfer, which is an easy & free to use email service.

 How many images will I receive?

The number of images you receive will depend on the amount of time that I spend with you, the longer the session, the more images you will receive. Typically for a 1-hour shoot, I estimate that you will receive anywhere between 30-40 images, but I could shoot upwards of 100. The reason that I shoot so many is to ensure that you receive the best possible results. 

Why do I need to pay a deposit?

The reason I ask for a deposit is to lock-in your time slot, without the deposit, your time slot is up for grabs and I cannot "hold" the time slot for you, as I can book another shoot in your desired time. 

Can we meet with you to discuss our shoot beforehand?

Absolutely! A consultation with my clients is a great way for us to discuss exactly what your expectations are and how we would go about the shoot.

When will I receive my images?

Due to my busy schedule, a typical wait time would be around 4 - 6 weeks. This is because I prefer to take my time editing and ensuring that you receive the perfect images. 

Where would the shoot take place?

It could happen outdoors, on location or in a studio. Whichever you may prefer. I like to shoot on location as the place we shoot could change the entire mood of the shoot.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 72 hours in advance. If you are entitled to a refund, you will receive a full refund, however, if you do not, I will retain half of your deposit. If you cancel 48 hours before the shoot, I will retain the full deposit. However, you can put your deposit towards a reschedule if you so wish.

Can I get my images in black & white?

I shoot my images in colour, however, during the editing process, I will change some of the images to black & white depending on the look and feel of the image. 

How does copyright work?

I retain ownership of the images for all commercial use, this means that I can use them for promotional work.However, I believe that you are the owner of the images because you have paid for them, you can do what you want with them!

Do you work with an assistant?

For everything, other than a wedding, I do not work with an assistant as this would come at an extra cost to you as the customer. I would ask my client if they have a friend or family member that would be available to help on the day of the shoot, however, this is not usually necessary. 

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my shoot?

You can either reschedule, we will try to find you the earliest possible timeslot or cancel and you would receive your deposit back.

When should I book my session?

I take bookings as far as an entire year in advance, but at least a month in advance should be fine.

How can I book my session?

You can email jasminphotographyza@gmail.com or fill out the online booking form on the website, after which I will contact you with a quote and all of the details.

What equipment do you use?

I use my trusty Canon and a variety of lenses. I don't use a flash for outdoor shoots as natural light allows me to work quicker and more efficiently. 

 What should I wear?

No patterns! Other than that, what you wear depends on the location, time of year and any other factors. Before your shoot, I will create a Pinterest board to help you get an idea.

I wear glasses, what should I do?

When you wear glasses outside, a glare is created that would be difficult to retouch. I would suggest wearing contact lenses for the shoot, if possible. 

Can I get the RAW files?

I use my discretion to carefully select and edit the best images and it is for this reason that I do not give my clients the RAW files.

Can you photoshop me?

I will edit out a few issues, such as a lipstick smudge, but I do not edit a person's shape or figure.
